Job description

About the role

A & A Customs Brokers has been clearing shipments across the Canada–U.S. border since 1979. We’re looking for a true hunter to grow our commercial client base in both markets -  someone who knows the customs brokerage world inside out and gets a genuine charge out of opening doors and closing deals.

This is a home-based role. You’ll work remotely, but you’ll also drive to meet prospects and clients in your area for in-person sales meetings, so you’ll need to be mobile within your territory. We provide a car allowance to cover that travel.

You can be based anywhere in Canada or the U.S., though we’d love to see you in or near a major port or trade city.

You’ll own revenue and profit growth by finding new importers, understanding what they actually need, and bringing them customized brokerage solutions, backed by one of the most established names in the business.

What you’ll do

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new commercial importer accounts across Canada and the U.S.
  • Build and work your own pipeline of qualified leads through referrals, cold calling, networking, and trade shows.
  • Develop and execute targeted strategies to enter new markets and increase revenue.
  • Negotiate contracts and drive deals forward with grit and follow-through.
  • Partner with our subject-matter experts to tailor brokerage solutions to each client’s import needs.
  • Keep clean, current records of all sales activity - calls, presentations, closed deals, follow-ups in HubSpot.

What we’re looking for (must-haves)

  • Customs brokerage knowledge. You understand the Canadian and/or U.S. customs brokerage industry. You know the difference and can speak to it credibly with importers.
  • A hunter’s mindset. You find new business opportunities rather than waiting for leads to land. Prospecting energizes you.
  • You can sell, and people like working with you. Personable, coachable, and persuasive, with strong communication skills, spoken and written.
  • Located in Canada or the U.S., ideally in or near a major port or trade city.
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle, with a clean driving record. You’ll drive to prospect and client meetings in your area, and we provide a car allowance to support that travel.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Workspace, and lead engine tools.
  • Comfort with modern sales tech integrations, reporting, and automation.
  • Positivity and adaptability when priorities shift.
  • Willingness to travel beyond your local area as needed for trade shows and client visits.

Why A & A

  • Work from home. Trade the commute for time back in your day.
  • Teamwork. A collaborative, professional team that genuinely supports each other.
  • Modern and Tech-Focused. A workplace that values innovation, fresh ideas, and client success.
  • Competitive Base plus uncapped commission. Your earning potential grows with every deal you close.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package. We offer health, dental & vision, RRSP/401k programs, tuition reimbursement, and professional development opportunities.
