Job Title: IT Administrative Clerk, Senior

Job Description:
Job Summary
Serve as a senior administrative clerk providing high level administrative support for product procurement for Purdue IT clients, utilizing knowledge of University policies and procedures to explain practices, procedures, and policies as needed. Guide customers towards answers by serving as a facilitator, liaison, and resource person for procurement activities. Provide requested price quotes and enter requested orders into the procurement application. Ensure timely order approval processes and compliance with policies, guidelines, and regulations. Monitor vendor orders and keep clients informed of order status and any delays. Receive and verify package deliveries and receipt of purchases, ensuring orders are accurately recorded in the procurement application. Independently develop solutions for procurement/vendor shipping issues for manager review. Advise staff and customers on established purchasing policies and procedures. Assist with completing monthly, quarterly, and annual billing cycles for the services with recurring, internal charges. Provide supplementary business support to university cellular services and asset management.

What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
  • High School Degree or High School Equivalency (HSE)
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in administrative and operational support

Preferred:
  • Experience in a higher education business environment

Skills Required:
  • The ability to:
    • meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks and pay close attention to detail.
    • maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies
    • interpret and effectively communicate University policies and procedures, including the University procurement application and procedures
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in use of Office 365 applications, with the demonstrated ability to maintain purchasing records, spreadsheets, and use MS Teams for communication and documentation purposes
