Job description

Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking a Unit Coordinator in E lDorado, KS who will be responsiblefor ensuring the unit operates as it should,buidling capabilites on the shift team,optimizing the daily operation to meet targets and seeking mid to long term solutions to reduce risk and optimize refinery performance.
Job Duties
  • Ensure the refinery runs safely and effectively through the setting and the monitoring of long-term targets and standards that achieve operating objectives set by planning and leadership.
  • Manage the short term risks for unit by driving daily maintenance by revewing , approving and priortizing work orders in step with the operations maintenance coordinator.
  • Manage the refinery risk profile by setting T/A / outage, project, and long-term scope & priorities to reduce the probability of LPO and incident including management of assigned cost centers.
  • Ensure that the shift organization develops the competency necessary to run the refinery safely and efficiently through training assurance and unit specific training programs.
  • Serve as SME for assigned unit, assist with unit specific troubleshooting and optimization while also taking ownership of development of unit specific processes, standards and procedures.
  • Represent Operations as the stakeholder in the Scoping phase of projects from FEL 0 to FEL 2
  • Supervision of the Process area specialist;delegation and assurance of tasks that ensures operations in the assigned unit implement PSM and OEMS Requirements.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of refinery operations background and general knowledge of maintenance protocol is required.
Education Level
A minimum of a High School Diploma is required.
Required Skills
Ability to effectively lead and influence without direct authority Ability to optimize production through identifying and solving problems related to the operation of our assets within assigned area. Ability to handle high visibility projects and activities, high pressure situations, and long hours while maintaining a positive and constructive attitude. Team player with ability to effectively communicate with others through written and verbal communication. Ability to constructively interact with all levels of staff including engineers, operators, shift maintenance personnel and refinery leadership. Intermediate computer skills, intermediate reading and writing skills and the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
Preferred Skill:
Leadership training for hourly or operations personnel. Special training and/or skill demonstration in computer software.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Responsible for the direct supervision of up to 4 Employees.
Work Conditions
Office and Refinery/Industrial environment based with up to 5% travel by land and air is required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors, and driver based environment, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and rotating equipment. Subject to all weather, temperatures, and varying road conditions. Subject to occasional weekend and after hour call-outs, and working in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements
