If you enjoy problem-solving, working with spatial data, and making an impact through technology, consider joining our team as anAnalyst,GIS.This role plays a critical role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of natural gas systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work with innovative ESRI tools, contribute to data accuracy and integrity, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance geospatial solutions that power our infrastructure.

What You Will Do:

  • Interpret field drawings, as-builts, and compliance documentation to accurately map assets within GIS systems and update records in compliance platforms.

  • Perform GIS-based analysis and create clear, actionable maps and data outputs for internal stakeholders.

  • Support data analytics initiatives and continuously improve data quality, integrity, and consistency.

  • Complete routine GIS analytical functions to maintain accurate pipeline and asset records.

  • Assist in the design, development, configuration, and maintenance of ESRI software solutions.

  • Produce maps and reports that support the operation and maintenance of natural gas systems.

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and recommend enhancements to GIS processes and tools.

What You Have:

  • Technologist diploma, BA in Geography, GIS, or related discipline.

  • Knowledge and understanding of GIS data model i.e., features, attribution, relationships, and system configuration i.e., ArcFM interface, stored displays, auto-updaters, as-built rules. Knowledge, understanding and skill to use ArcGIS applications to update and maintain company pipeline assets in GIS database.

  • Knowledge and understanding of company Standard Practices and pipeline industry terminology. Knowledge understanding of how to create project plans and schedules. Knowledge understanding and knowledge with higher skill level in the operation and use of ArcGIS, GPS & CAD solution products.

  • Knowledge and understanding of basic programming and debugging skills. Knowledge of how to create and develop GIS workflows and standard practices. Skill in problem solving. Knowledge and understanding of GPS and Survey practices. Knowledge and understanding of DOT CFR 49 part 192 codes related to record keeping HCA/Class (Transmission).

  • Knowledge and understanding of High Consequence Areas (HCA) and DOT Class requirements. Knowledge and understanding of QGC & QPC Integrity Management Plans and associated responsibilities of the Transmission Mapping and Integrity Support group.

  • 2 years' experience as a GIS Technician II or equivalent job-related experience or education and demonstrate overall knowledge of the department workflow processes, or related work experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in GIS systems or the natural gas pipeline industry, experience with ESRI software and interpreting engineering drawings/field notes.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment majority of time.

  • Low frequency local travel to other office locations within state may be required.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
