Job Summary

The Reitz Union Hotel is seeking experienced and motivated Housekeeping Supervisors to oversee daily housekeeping operations and ensure a clean, safe, and attractive environment throughout the hotel. This role supervises the work activities of housekeepers and housemen while supporting operational excellence and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness and appearance standards
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas daily for cleanliness, organization, and wear
  • Report maintenance issues promptly to appropriate supervisors or the maintenance team
  • Work closely with Engineering and Front Office on out‑of‑order rooms and room status
  • Assist with department training, scheduling, supervision, and performance monitoring
  • Ensure lost and found items are reported, stored, or mailed according to procedures
  • Support housekeeping operations by servicing guest rooms when needed, including "over" rooms

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping experience required
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Second language desirable
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed throughout the entire hotel
  • Frequent use of housekeeping equipment including carts, vacuums, mops, and cleaning tools
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift as required
  • Physical mobility and stamina required to perform essential job duties
