Union administration refers to the management and overseeing of a labor union's day-to-day operations and organizational functions. This includes handling membership records, organizing meetings, managing finances, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and supporting collective bargaining efforts. Union administrators play a key role in communication between union members and leadership, helping to maintain transparency and promote union goals. Their work ensures that the union operates efficiently and effectively advocates for its members.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in union administration, and why are they important?

To thrive in Union Administration, you need a solid understanding of labor laws, collective bargaining processes, and organizational management, often supported by a degree in labor relations, business, or a related field. Familiarity with labor contract management systems, HR software, and database tools is typical, along with certifications such as Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP).
