• Actively respond to trauma alerts and promptly evaluate patients' conditions upon arrival at the emergency department.
• Stabilize patients and initiate immediate care interventions to prevent further medical deterioration.
• Assist in resuscitation efforts, including performing procedures such as intubation or fluid resuscitation during emergency cases.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the trauma team to provide interprofessional and coordinated care for all trauma patients.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and interpret a variety of diagnostic tests and imaging results.
• Administer medications as directed by supervising physicians and monitor patients for therapeutic effects.
• Support invasive procedures such as wound management and initial interventions during trauma cases.
• Educate patients and their families regarding trauma care, treatment plans, and recovery processes.
• Facilitate the safe transfer of patients to specialized units or facilities when necessary.
• Monitor and manage patients’ pain levels, ensuring comfort and adherence to pain management protocols.
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and interactions in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure safe care practices.

The primary focus of the Physician Assistant within our facility is the management of critically injured patients across a diverse demographic. You will encounter a variety of cases ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening trauma situations, making it essential that you are adept in quickly assessing and addressing a broad spectrum of medical needs.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field along with successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Comprehensive knowledge of trauma assessment protocols and stabilization techniques.
• Proficiency in performing trauma-related procedures under the supervision of attending physicians.
• Strong clinical skills and diagnostic acumen in emergency and trauma evaluations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure and rapidly changing environments.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency medicine or trauma care settings.
• Familiarity with trauma-specific medications and advanced intervention techniques is preferred.
• Experience in documenting patient care efficiently and accurately in an EMR system.
• A strong commitment to ongoing education and professional development in trauma medicine.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to USD 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes health care plans (medical, dental, and vision), a retirement plan (401k and IRA), and generous paid time off.
