Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Builds, implements and maintains the Cardiology Information System within the Epic electronic health record. Manages complex Information System projects/products in order to provide solutions that meet UCI Health System's business needs using the Epic solution. The incumbent provides support for all computer and information systems activities of the Cardiology and Cath Lab Department. Maintains Epic applications by facilitating updates, new releases and system enhancements along with issue troubleshooting and resolution. Communicates project and team status to internal and external audiences and participates in system technical and application reviews to determine feasibility, cost and evaluate usefulness for UCI Health System. Assists in recruitment, development and training of existing and new employees.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of operations, systems and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
  • Recent and in-depth knowledge of Cardiology and Cath Lab systems function and usage
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer
  • General knowledge and familiarity with theory and practice of Cardiology and Cath Lab medicine
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple activities and varied deadlines
  • Epic Cupid Certification
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and or equivalent combination of experience/training.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to function as a project leader and project member
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution
  • 5-7+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Knowledge of Cardiology and Cath Lab maintenance, including new test builds
  • Experience with EMR/LIS HL7, Instruments, Middleware, and Point of care interfaces
  • Experience in Cardiology PACS systems
  • Experience in Cardiology Echo and diagnostic ECG systems
