How much do uat test jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 18, 2026, the average hourly pay for uat test in the United States is $44.20, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $33.89 and $53.85 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How much do UAT testers make?

UAT testers typically earn between $50,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and industry. Entry-level testers may start at lower salaries, while experienced professionals with certifications or specialized skills can earn higher wages. Compensation often includes benefits and opportunities for career advancement in software quality assurance roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a UAT (User Acceptance Testing) Tester, and why are they important?

To thrive as a UAT Tester, you need a solid understanding of software development life cycles, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail, typically supported by experience in QA or business analysis. Familiarity with test management tools (like JIRA or TestRail), defect tracking systems, and sometimes certifications such as ISTQB are commonly required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and stakeholder management skills help UAT Testers collaborate effectively and advocate for end-user needs. These competencies are crucial for ensuring that software solutions meet business requirements and deliver a positive user experience.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

UAT Testers typically do not earn $2000 a day; such high daily rates are more common in specialized consulting, executive roles, or freelance positions in fields like software development, finance, or consulting. High-paying contract or freelance jobs often require extensive experience, certifications, and skills in niche areas, and may involve project-based work or consulting engagements.

What companies will pay you to test their products?

UAT (User Acceptance Testing) testers can find paid opportunities with software companies, gaming firms, and e-commerce businesses that need real users to validate product functionality. These companies often hire testers directly or through freelance platforms, requiring skills in testing tools and attention to detail. Payment varies based on project scope and complexity, and some roles may require specific certifications or experience.

How does a UAT Tester typically interact with business stakeholders during a project?

UAT Testers play a crucial role as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders. They collaborate closely with business users to understand real-world workflows, clarify requirements, and ensure test cases accurately reflect end-user needs. Throughout the user acceptance testing phase, UAT Testers facilitate feedback sessions, document issues, and communicate defects to development teams, fostering a collaborative environment that ensures the delivered product meets business expectations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building productive relationships and successfully advocating for end-user perspectives.

Uat Test typically refers to the overall process or role of managing User Acceptance Testing, while Uat Tester focuses on executing test cases and reporting issues. Both roles require similar certifications and work in the same industry environment, but their responsibilities differ in scope and focus.

What is UAT testing?

UAT, or User Acceptance Testing, is the final phase of software testing where real users validate that the software meets their requirements and works as intended in real-world scenarios. The goal of UAT is to ensure that the system is ready for production and that all business needs are satisfied. During UAT, end users perform tasks and report any issues or bugs, which must be resolved before the software can go live.

What does an UAT tester do?

An UAT (User Acceptance Testing) tester evaluates software to ensure it meets business requirements and is ready for release. They create test cases, execute tests in a controlled environment, and document issues for developers to fix, often using tools like test management software. Strong communication and understanding of user needs are essential for this role.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE / ROLE

We are seeking a Quality Engineer (Automation & UAT) to help ensure the reliability, scalability, and overall quality of our internal and customer-facing software systems. This role is a hands-on engineering position with a strong emphasis on test automation, regression coverage, and end-to-end business process validation.

The ideal candidate enjoys building repeatable test automation through partnering closely with developers and product teams, and validating complex operational workflows in a regulated, real-world environment. While UAT and manual testing remain important responsibilities, this role goes beyond traditional UAT testing to actively reduce manual test effort through automation and improved quality practices.

EXPERIENCE IN AVIATION, TRANSPORTATION, OR OTHER OPERATIONALLY COMPLEX INDUSTRIES IS A STRONG PLUS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, and/or integration-level) to support regression and release validation.
  • Identify opportunities to replace manual UAT test cases with automated coverage over time.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve testability of applications and integrations.
  • Contribute to establishing and refining quality engineering standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Develop and execute UAT test plans and scenarios based on business requirements, system designs, and real-world operational workflows.
  • Validate end-to-end business processes across interconnected systems to ensure solutions meet user needs and operational expectations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to confirm readiness for production releases and participate in go/no-go decisions.
  • Identify, document, track, and help triage defects using tools such as Jira or similar systems.
  • Work closely with developers, QA partners, and project managers to ensure defects are clearly understood and resolved efficiently.
  • Provide clear, concise testing status and risk assessments to stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve test coverage, test efficiency, and overall release quality.
  • Quickly learn proprietary systems and complex workflows to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.
  • Support the evolution of testing practices as systems, integrations, and scale grow.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE FOR ANY OF THESE ADDITIONAL SKILLSETS:

  • Experience in aviation, transportation, logistics, or other operationally complex or regulated environments.
  • Exposure to Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
  • Experience testing integrated systems (e.g., APIs, data flows, third-party platforms).
  • ISTQB or similar testing certification.
  • Interest in growing toward broader quality engineering or automation ownership.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-6 years of experience in QA, test engineering, UAT, or automation-focused testing roles.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright, Cypress, API testing tools, or similar).
  • Experience executing and supporting UAT and end-to-end workflow testing in collaboration with business users.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to documentation.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or equivalent).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift / push or pull, greater than or equal to 15 lbs.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and provide after-hours accessibility to personnel and leadership.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in meetings (in person or virtual)
  • Ability to use to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment

Tradewind Aviation offers a competitive pay and benefits program for full-time team members:

  • Comprehensive health and voluntary insurance plans
  • Retirement plan with company match
  • Paid time off
  • Standby travel on select Tradewind Aviation scheduled flights
  • Discounted standby travel benefits on numerous major and regional US and international airlines
  • A rewarding career path with opportunities for growth and advancement throughout the organization
