Senior Business Analyst Azure DevOps & UAT

The strongest candidate is a CBAP-certified Senior Business Analyst who can independently lead complex requirements and process-analysis activities while remaining closely connected to delivery, testing, and implementation.

You know how to challenge unclear requirements, uncover the real business need, model current and future processes, create development-ready requirements, maintain a disciplined Azure DevOps backlog, support UAT, and prepare users for successful adoption.

You are equally comfortable facilitating a stakeholder discovery session, writing detailed requirements, reviewing user stories with a Product Owner, coordinating UAT, analyzing a process gap, and creating the documentation needed to support a successful production release.

Project or Role Overview

The Senior Business Analyst will partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, project leadership, and delivery teams to support discovery, business-process analysis, backlog management, user acceptance testing, training readiness, and implementation activities.

The role requires substantial experience with enterprise requirements analysis, Agile/Scrum delivery, Azure DevOps backlog management, process modeling, UAT, documentation, and business readiness.

Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Process Modeling
  • Facilitate discovery and requirements-gathering activities with business stakeholders.

  • Analyze business needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements.

  • Develop current-state and future-state process maps.

  • Create workflow diagrams and business operating procedures.

  • Identify process-improvement opportunities and operational impacts.

  • Identify and document manual processes, workarounds, and exception-handling procedures.

  • Develop end-to-end business and system-interaction diagrams.

  • Document business rules, validation requirements, and exception-processing logic.

Product Owner & Backlog Support
  • Partner with Product Owners to refine and maintain product backlogs.

  • Gather, analyze, clarify, and document requirements supporting epics, features, user stories, and tasks.

  • Develop and refine user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Maintain requirements traceability across development, testing, and implementation.

  • Provide recommendations regarding business validation and backlog readiness.

User Acceptance Testing
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing activities with business stakeholders.

  • Develop or support UAT strategies, scenarios, and business-validation plans.

  • Track UAT execution, test results, defects, and acceptance decisions.

  • Support end-to-end business-process testing.

  • Assess business and release readiness.

  • Maintain UAT evidence and support acceptance recommendations.

Training & Organizational Readiness
  • Support development of training plans and end-user training materials.

  • Create job aids, quick-reference guides, process documentation, and operational materials.

  • Support stakeholder communication, readiness, and adoption activities.

  • Facilitate training and knowledge-transfer sessions.

Azure DevOps
  • Maintain and organize Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks in Azure DevOps.

  • Assist with ADO dashboards, queries, reporting, and documentation.

Documentation & Governance
  • Create and maintain business and technical requirements documentation.

  • Maintain documentation repositories, knowledge bases, and project wikis.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience gathering requirements from users and business stakeholders.

  • 6+ years of experience designing and documenting technical and business requirements.

  • 4+ years of experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies, processes, and ceremonies.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and organizing Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks using Azure DevOps backlog-management tools, including Kanban and Sprint boards.

  • Current CBAP certification.

  • Strong business-analysis and requirements-management expertise.

  • Strong stakeholder facilitation and communication skills.

  • Strong written documentation capabilities.

  • Experience translating business needs into actionable requirements.

  • Experience supporting enterprise technology implementations.

Preferred Qualifications
