Job description

Salary: $21 / Hour

THE NEED

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to work in Suffolk, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach. The ideal candidate must be flexible and willing to report to different job sites as needed, depending on the requirements of each property.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of residential maintenance experience.
  • Prior experience with Yardi management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act (VRLTA) and Fair Housing Laws.


CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and reliable.
  • Can establish relationships quickly and easily with a diverse group of people.
  • Has a high energy level and great customer service skills.
  • Goal oriented and results focused.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance Tech responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete all maintenance service requests as assigned and per company policy.
  • Maintain and service plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs of electrical systems (replace fixtures, bulbs, sockets, GFIs and repair circuit breakers).
  • Perform manual repairs (repair and/or replace locks, doors, windows, etc.)
  • Complete make-ready process of vacant units as directed by the site manager.
  • Complete grounds work as directed by the site manager for curb appeal.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
  • Order and organize supplies and parts.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional attitude and appearance. Must be in UPA uniform at all times.
