Job description:

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.

Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.

Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.

Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.

Complete appropriate paperwork and reports

Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.

Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.

Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.

Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision

Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.

The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.

Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs.

Requirements:

  • 6 months of industrial maintenance experience listed on the application or currently enrolled at an industrial maintenance program, or one year of classroom training from a technical college. (food industry preferred) Maintenance will be considered work in mechanic, fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance.

  • Applicants from the following counties in Arkansas will be considered - Benton, Washington, and Madison.

  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

  • Prior Employee Waiting Period: If you were previously employed at Tyson, there's a 180-day waiting period before you can reapply.

  • Number of Times Worked at Tyson: You can apply if you've worked at Tyson no more than two times.

  • Failed Drug Screen - if you had a failed drug screen, you must wait 6 months before reapplying.
