Job description

Business Analyst For Zelle Implementations

We are seeking a seasoned Business Analyst with a proven track record of leading End-to-End (E2E) Zelle implementations within a financial institution or fintech environment. You will serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our P2P payment rails, bridging the gap between business strategy, regulatory compliance, and technical execution. The ideal candidate has navigated the full project lifecycle, including EWS (Early Warning Services) certification, API integration, and fraud/risk strategy formulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Implementation & Delivery
  • Lead the requirement gathering and functional design for the E2E Zelle lifecycle, including enrollment, Send/Request money, Split Bill, and Move Money workflows.
  • Partner with Early Warning Services (EWS) to manage the certification process (UI/UX and Technical Build certifications).
  • Define and document business rules for transaction limits, velocity controls, and funds availability.
  • Technical & API Analysis
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications for REST/SOAP APIs and MQ event notifications.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to map data contribution files and ensure seamless integration with core banking systems (FIS, Client, or Jack Henry).
  • Analyze impact on downstream systems, including Ledger, Settlement, and Reconciliation.
  • Risk, Fraud & Compliance
  • Define business requirements for Fraud & Sanctions screening (e.g., OFAC, AML) specific to real-time payments.
  • Work with Risk teams to design exception-handling processes and dispute management workflows (Reg E compliance).
  • Establish "Good Funds" verification logic to mitigate NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) risks.
  • Product & UX Governance
  • Ensure the Zelle implementation adheres to the Network Participant Rules and brand guidelines.
  • Manage the product backlog in an Agile environment, writing high-quality User Stories and Acceptance Criteria (Gherkin/BDD).
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and conduct "Bug Bashes" to ensure a frictionless mobile/web experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of Business Analysis experience in Payments, with at least one full-cycle Zelle implementation successfully completed.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of P2P payment rails, ISO 20022 messaging, and US payment clearing systems (ACH, RTP, FedNow).
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with API documentation (Swagger/Postman). Proficiency in SQL for data mapping and transaction troubleshooting. Strong familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Visio for process mapping.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management; ability to explain complex technical "hooks" to non-technical business leaders.

9.00 Years of Experience
