To thrive as a Typist, you need excellent keyboarding skills, attention to detail, and a minimum typing speed—often 50-60 words per minute—along with a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with word processing software such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs is typically required, and some roles may ask for certifications in data entry or office administration. Strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to focus for extended periods help individuals excel in this position. These skills ensure accurate, efficient document production and data entry, which are vital for supporting business operations.
