Data inputs and machine learning techniques are at the heart of our quantitative research: they allow us to go from raw data and cutting-edge algorithms to monetizable signals that drive alpha for our investors. The Feature & Learner Strategy team's mission is to set firm-wide strategy and governance, as well as tooling and workflows, to steward these research assets, with the goal of maximizing their surface area and monetization potential.
Within this context, we are seeking an enthusiastic business manager to define and execute on the next phase of growth for our ecosystem of features and machine learning techniques. This individual will play a central role in evaluating and furthering initiatives that cut across a number of Modeling and Engineering pillars, thus driving significant impact for the broader R&D community at Two Sigma.
You will take on the following responsibilities:
  • Drive expansion and adoption of our feature and technique ecosystem in partnership with Modeling and Engineering teams, and continually improve the operational, strategic, and governance foundations that support it
  • Augment firm-wide telemetry and convert analyses into data-led decisions and strategic messaging for audiences across the firm
  • Help set strategy for how features and techniques could be further integrated with AI advances, in coordination with Modeling and Engineering
  • Identify, scope, and implement new capabilities within the feature and technique ecosystem

You should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a top institution in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, applied mathematics) or a social sciences field with a heavy quantitative component
  • 2-5 years work experience in a strategic or operational role (e.g., management consulting; internal strategy; corporate development, investment banking)
  • Python proficiency and data science competence
  • Proven track record of success delivering impactful business outcomes at assigned scope
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead by influence
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Interest in time series modeling and/or financial markets preferred

The base pay for this role will be between $150,000 and $225,000. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
