Responsibilities
  • Have a minimum of two years of previous safe driving experience
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience operating a school or commercial bus
  • Have sufficient mechanical aptitude to diagnose minor problems and make appropriate repairs
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain passenger discipline to ensure the safety and well-being, and protect against vandalism
  • Demonstrate compliance with DOT physical examination,
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements, and a clean driving abstract, before employment
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities, with reasonable accommodation in accordance with the statute
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain passenger discipline to ensure the safety and well-being, and protect against vandalism
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation in accordance with statute
  • Experience working with Special Needs Students preferred
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
  • Demonstrate computer literacy to be able to enter transportation information in Google products.
  • Must be able to perform physical work that requires frequent bending and lifting.

Required Certifications:
  • Possess a CDL Class B or C with Passenger and School Endorsement
  • Hold a High School diploma or equivalent

Salary - Hourly Rate
$40-$45/hr
25hrs/week - (10 months with availability to work summers)
Additional Employment Requirements:
  • Approved criminal history background check for district 3710
  • Pass the Trash approval
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  • Current residency in New Jersey or approved residency waiver, or candidate agreement to obtain residency within one year of employment.
