Job Summary/Description:

We’re looking for a Promotions Director to lead the strategy, creation, and execution of station promos that strengthen our brand and drive viewership. This role partners closely with the Creative Services Director and News leadership to ensure promotion priorities are clear, campaigns are delivered on time, and on-air messaging is compelling, consistent, and audience-focused.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Lead day-to-day planning and production of station promos (news, brand image, community, and special projects as assigned) for FOX Carolina and the Palmetto Sports and Entertainment subchannel.
• Translate station priorities into a promotable weekly/monthly plan; maintain promo calendars, priorities, and deadlines
• Write, produce, and edit high-impact promos and topical campaigns from concept through delivery.
• Create complementary social media promotion to reinforce on-air messaging in a way that is native to each platform and audience
• Manage the promo workflow from request to final approval, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, and legal/standards compliance.
• Maintain and enforce station brand guidelines across promo content (tone, look, and voice)
•Track performance signals (ratings points, campaign timing, qualitative feedback) and apply learnings to future promotion strategies.
• Assist with key community events, special projects, and commercial production as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
• 5-7+ years of hands-on experience producing television promotion and/or marketing creative (station promotion strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to write, edit, and finish promos with strong storytelling, pacing, and sound design.
• Proficiency with non-linear editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, Final Cut Pro) and basic motion graphics workflows.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of social media marketing and platform/audience differentiation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Working knowledge of broadcast standards, FCC considerations, and rights/clearances best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience leading or mentoring a creative team.
• Experience building integrated campaigns across on-air + digital/social.
• Familiarity with newsroom workflows and topical promotion.
• Knowledge of audience strategy, ratings, and promotional best practices.

What Success Looks Like:
• Promos are consistently on-brand, timely, accurate, and engaging.
• Promotion priorities are clear and aligned with station goals.
• The promo library and workflow are organized and scalable.
