PLI is searching for a professional to fill the role of Product Manager, Legal Information Services (responsibilities and qualifications are described below). KEY RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Define and maintain the functionality of PLI PLUS, PLI's award winning secondary source legal research database which includes gathering and documenting requirements for new features
- Actively seek to learn and understand the strategic goals of PLI senior leadership
- Work with the product owner and others within the organization to respond to customer requirements and implement new features on PLI PLUS
- Takes ownership of projects from end-to-end. Display project management skills and the ability to engage with others to achieve product vision
- Maintains an ongoing understanding of PLI customers, PLI business goals, and internal technologies
- Analyze PLI PLUS usage trends to develop features that will drive growth of usage and revenue
- Keep current with market trends that impact how customers prefer to interact with content and actively seek out user data to drive development strategies
- Represent and drive the business needs throughout the development process providing requirements to the software engineers as well as the dedicated PLI BA and QA team members
- Collaborate with various departments, especially the Publishing team, to ensure the content is being added to PLUS. Troubleshoot issues should they arise
- Manage the requirements and oversight of implementation of development priorities.
- Collaborate and participate on User Experience workÂ
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines as established by your manager
- Perform other related tasks as requested by your manager
- Handle special projects as they arise
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSÂ
- Knowledge of legal, compliance and electronic publishing preferred, although we will train an otherwise qualified candidate
- 3-5 years' experience in legal publishing, legal librarianship, or product management for an electronic database.
- Advanced academic credentials required. MLS, MBA, or JD is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to define database functionalityÂ
- Self-starter and able to take initiativeÂ
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Analytical mindset and critical thinking
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of legal research, MS Office JIRA, is an advantage

COMPENSATION RANGE FOR THIS POSITION
$125,000 - $132,000 per annumÂ
