About Tutor Me Education: At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn. We are seeking passionate, experienced teachers and tutors to provide high-impact, 1:1 in-home tutoring. If you are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of neurodivergent students and helping them achieve academic milestones, we want you on our team!
About the Role: As an In-Home Special Education Tutor, you will deliver highly personalized instruction tailored to each student's unique learning style and Individualized Education Program (IEP). You will provide targeted academic intervention, socio-emotional support, and behavioral guidance directly in the student's home environment.
Position Details:
  • Location: In-person (In-home) tutoring
  • Compensation: $25 - $35 per hour (Premium rates available based on experience, credentials, and performance)
  • Hours: Highly flexible, part-time schedule. Choose from before/after-school hours or weekends (~10-20 hours per month, with opportunities to take on additional clients).

Your Responsibilities:
  • Targeted Instruction: Conduct engaging, 1:1 tutoring sessions designed specifically for students with special education needs.
  • IEP Alignment: Review, understand, and implement lesson plans and strategies that align directly with each student's IEP goals.
  • Curriculum Adaptation: Modify and adapt academic materials, assessments, and teaching modalities to fit the unique learning profile of the student.
  • Progress Tracking: Document student progress data systematically, adjusting instructional methods as needed to ensure growth.
  • Collaborative Care: Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and (where applicable) classroom teachers or specialized school teams to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
  • Holistic Support: Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that supports emotional, behavioral, and academic growth.

Who We Are Looking For:
  • Location: Ability to reliably commute to client homes in your local area
  • Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university, or holds an AA, BA, or higher degree (Degrees in Education, Special Education, or Psychology are a plus).
  • Experience: Proven experience in tutoring or teaching (experience working with students with special needs, learning differences, and behavioral accommodations is highly preferred).
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to make learning interactive and student-focused.
  • Languages: Fluency in Spanish is a strong plus.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
