The University Corporation is a non-profit auxiliary corporation providing commercial and administrative services to California State University, Northridge. Our mission is to provide services and solutions that address the needs of California State University, Northridge; to support the academic, research, and creative endeavors of its students, faculty, and staff; and to enhance the quality of campus life.

 

Overview: The CSUN College Corps Manager serves as the primary administrator and strategic lead for the #CaliforniansForAll College Corps program at California State University, Northridge. This position is responsible for the overall management, implementation, and continuous improvement of a large-scale, equity-centered service program. The Manager ensures that the program reflects CSUN's commitment to equity, cultural affirmation, and student success, while advancing community impact in the areas of K-12 education, food insecurity/basic needs, and climate action. The Manager oversees student recruitment and retention, community partnerships, staff supervision, compliance and reporting, and cross-campus collaboration to ensure high-quality student experiences and strong community outcomes.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):  

Program Leadership & Administration

* Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the College Corps program

* Oversee daily operations, program implementation, and continuous improvement efforts

* Ensure alignment with California Volunteers, AmeriCorps, and CSU/CSUN policies and requirements

* Develop and maintain program infrastructure, policies, and procedures

* Collaborates with Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, and the Office of Community Engagement

Community Partnerships & Host Site Development

* Serve as the primary liaison to community host partners across the three priority service areas

* Develop, maintain, and expand partnerships with nonprofit organizations, schools, and agencies

* Oversee host site recruitment, vetting, on-boarding, and works with the Office of Community Engagement to ensure completion of Service Agreements and S4 tracking

* Ensure host sites provide meaningful, supervised, and compliant service opportunities

* Conduct regular site visits and partner check-ins

Student Recruitment, Placement & Retention

* Lead recruitment strategies to build a diverse, equity-centered cohort of Fellows

* Oversee application, selection, and placement processes

* Ensure equitable access and participation of Students and partner with the Office of Financial Aid to ensure eligibility and aid packaging

* Monitor student progress, retention, and completion of required service hours

* Support placement matching aligned with student goals and community needs

Supervision & Staff Management 

* Supervise program staff, including: Program Coordinator, MSW Interns (in partnership with supervisors)       

* Provide leadership, training, and performance evaluation

* Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered team environment

Student Support, Training & Cohort Development 

* Ensure Fellows receive structured on-boarding, training, and ongoing professional development

* Support implementation of leadership development, reflection, and community-building activities

* Oversee support structures including MSW intern mentoring and peer mentorship (Year 2+)

* Promote culturally affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practices

Compliance, Data Management & Reporting

* Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including: hour tracking (e.g., S4 system), training requirements, stipend eligibility

* Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting

* Prepare required reports for California Volunteers and Student Affairs End of Year Reports

* Monitor program performance metrics and outcomes

Budget & Fiscal Oversight 

* Monitor program budget in collaboration with TUC Budgeting team

* Ensure accurate and compliant use of funds

* Support financial reporting and reconciliation processes

* Ensure that living allowance payments are administered accurately

Other Duties 

* Participate in division-wide meetings

 

Qualifications:   

Bachelor's degree in social work, education, public administration, or related field

* 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, student services, community engagement, or related area

* Experience working with college students, particularly from diverse and historically underrepresented backgrounds

* Experience developing partnerships with community-based organizations

* Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills

* Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and community engagement

Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:  

* Knowledge of program development, implementation, and evaluation

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex partnerships

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* Ability to interpret and apply policies and compliance requirements

* Ability to lead with cultural humility and equity-centered practices

* Ability to analyze data and use it for continuous improvement

OTHER:

* This position is grant-funded and contingent upon continued funding

* May require occasional evening/weekend work and local travel

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

The anticipated hiring range: $82,500 Yearly Salary

Time Base: Full - Time
