POSITION SUMMARY
This focus of this position is to support and enforce all safety, governmental,and Western International (WIG) procedures while meeting operational goals.This position will promote the most efficient use of cylinder assets, vehicleassets, plant assets, as well as optimizing cost by working to reduceproduction, distribution, and cylinder maintenance cost. This position willalso recommend and oversee the region's allocation of capital investments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES include thefollowing. Other duties may be assigned.
• Leads Safety Meetings
• Trains others to follow safety rules
• Writes and modifies Standard Operating Procedures
• Determines if immediate maintenance action is required and acts appropriately
• Identifies SHE requirements and includes in planned WO's
• Secures site for WO maintenance per schedule / SHE requirements
• Demonstrates effective communication skills (including writing reports),ability to lead others, and ability to interface with customers
• Performs all jobs in plant or operation, troubleshoots the process, and makesplant decisions
• Performs complex plant functions, and warm/cold plant start-up
• Takes initiative to improve facility (i.e. operations, reliability, and coststructure) without direction
• Proposes equipment upgrades and modifications to improve safety, reliability,efficiency, etc.
• Works with vendors and equipment manufacturers to resolve issues
• Directs the work of others
• Performs more challenging light and routine maintenance functions such asinstrumentation, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting
• Troubleshoots PLC, DCS, and other computer interface stations
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates control, valves, pneumatic andelectronic control equipment and instruments
• Identifies potential problems from collected data

• Fully supports, instills, and reinforces corporate Health, Safety, andEnvironmental policies / procedures and relevant documentation at the facility
• Assists and supports Plant Manager in maintaining responsibility for a safe,efficient, and environmentally friendly operating environment at the facility
• Ensures customer product delivery requirements and pertinent documentationand reporting requirements are satisfactorily being efficiently met
• Coordinates production and maintenance tasks within facility work groupwithout interruption of customer product deliveries
• Provides kinesthetic training needs within local facility operations as theyrelate to specific job profiling and individual career path goals
• Assists and works closely with Plant Manager to complete daily requirements including
• Administrative function responsibilities as delegated by Plant Manager
• Facility record keeping and documentation
• Innovations and improvement projects - 5S & TRW projects
• On-site contractors Policies and Procedures
• Customer relations as applicable
• Facility cost control, tracking, and utilization of National PurchasingAgreements
• Acts and assumes key responsibilities of Plant Manager during their absence
• Makes certain shift coverage for facility operating requirements aresatisfied
• Develops and implements work schedules of Production Technicians
• Fills in for vacations and emergency shift relief coverage as situationswarrant
• Shares "On-call" responsibilities with Plant Manager as needed
Safety, Compliance, Quality - Ensure branch locations are operated in accordance andincompliance with industry
regulations, WIG procedures and safety standards. Regulations include but notlimited to FDA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, NFPA. Maintain highest safety and qualitystandards for production and distribution through communication, audit followup, training, and enforcement of procedures and regulations.
Conduct effective accident investigations to determine root cause of accident,recommend, suggest or implement corrective actions.
Training -Train and guide Area Leads and facility employees insafety/production/distribution techniques assuring their development to thefullest potential.
Lean Six Sigma -Effectively apply Lean Six Sigma tools including 5S throughout the operation.
Location Planning/Financial Management - Gives input into location operating andplanning budget, monitoring of
plans and goals and provides input to improve service and decrease overall costto customer. Assure team meets or exceeds service and quality expectations ofcustomers.
Management/ContinuousImprovement - Develop andmonitor operational staffing levels and productivity performance. Ensuresupport of all customer service and sales efforts by keeping productivity high,controlling costs, reinforcing safety efforts and encouraging morale to achievepositive results. Work to continuously improve processes in all areas. Providerecommendations for increase department efficiency or cost reduction initiatives.

Required Experience:
Three to five years of experience in a gas production or distributionenvironment with two years supervisory experience preferred.
Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with associates, vendorsand customers in a wide variety of situations
Exposure to and understanding of applicable regulations as defined by DOT,OSHA, FDA, CGA, EPA, and NFPA. Education:

• Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safetyglasses, safety shoes/boots,
