IF YOU ARE NOT AN ELIGIBLE CCA STUDENT, YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.The Office of TRIO Programs brings together the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) traditional and English as a Second Language programs to provide academic support and a sense of community to students who are TRIO SSS participants. This position will provide administrative and programmatic support to the office as a whole as well as to each individual program. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, including some general advising, student tracking data, time management, effective communication (verbal and electronic), leadership, and more.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESTRIO Student Support and Outreach - Conduct outreach to current TRIO students as identified by TRIO Advisors.
- Schedule and conduct monthly follow-up meetings with students who have not recently engaged with the program.
- Update and maintain accurate student records.
- Identify and provide outreach to high-need students to ensure they receive appropriate support.
Recruitment - Assist with recruiting eligible students by:
- Sending emails and making phone calls.
- Providing support at tabling events, open houses, and other recruitment activities.
- Following recruitment plans established by the TRIO Programs.
Front Desk and Administrative Support - Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Greet and direct visitors to the appropriate offices, staff, or campus resources.
- Schedule appointments for advisors using Microsoft Outlook and/or Navigate.
- Ensure completion of required paperwork and sign-in procedures.
- Maintain the front office, including bulletin boards, lounge areas, and event spaces.
- Assist with event setup, teardown, and cleanup.
TRIO Programs and Events - Serve as a student leader by providing guidance, encouragement, and support to TRIO participants.
- Provide administrative support for TRIO programs and special projects as assigned.
- Design promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, posters, event calendars, and other marketing materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - Student must be awarded work study hours by the Financial Aid Office.
- Minimum 2.0 grade point average (GPA).
- Preference for current TRIO SSS or TRIO SSS-ESL participants.
- Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at CCA.
- Excellent customer service skills and a desire to grow professionally.
- Intermediate computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft software, the internet, and general computer trouble shooting.
- Ability to place and receive phone calls on a regular basis and respond to emails.
- Capable of working independently in a constantly changing environment
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - Must have completed FAFSA on file
- Must be enrolled in a minimum six (6) credit hours
- Must NOT have yet obtained 1st Bachelor's Degree
- Must be seeking an eligible program of study
