Job description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential  opportunity for a civilian Registered Nurse -  Neurology  at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas Nevada. This contract position offers:

Position Highlights:

  • Schedule - 40 hours weekly, Daily shifts will be 8 to 10 hours long, scheduled between 0700 and 1700  
  • Fully Insured patient population

Education and Experience:

The Registered Nurse will have the following requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen, or lawful permanent resident, or alien authorized to work in the US
  • Shall have and maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Shall hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) & (ACLS), Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
  • Shall have completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university; Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • One (1) year of outpatient clinical experience in neurology is preferred or Outpatient clinical experience in a related specialty will be considered within the last three (3) years. One (1) year of inpatient experience alone is not acceptable

General Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.
  • Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments, as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of preventive health schedules, disease management and population health principles, and education methods.
  • Strongly preferred working knowledge of the military health care system including TRICARE health benefits or a working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use to include knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient’s condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
