As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients referred by healthcare providers, developing tailored treatment plans, and implementing appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Utilizing a diverse array of treatment techniques and modalities that may include manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
• Maintaining clear and detailed documentation of patient progress and modifying treatment plans based on continuous assessment of their needs and responsiveness to therapy.
• Providing education and training to patients and their caregivers to foster a better understanding of treatment goals and self-management strategies.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as orthopedic surgeons and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Meeting minimum utilization goals and contributing to departmental performance metrics, showcasing your dedication to patient outcomes.

Your patient caseload will primarily consist of individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions requiring rehabilitative care. You will also have opportunities to provide therapy for pediatrics, neurology, and sports medicine patients, which will enhance your skill set and treatment diversity. To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited APTA or CAPTE-approved institution.
• A valid State License to practice Physical Therapy in Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to build rapport with patients and staff alike.
• Proficiency in computer systems for documentation and scheduling.

While not required, the following experiences can enhance your candidacy:

• Prior experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting, specifically with orthopedic patients.
• Knowledge of various physical therapy procedures and evidence-based practice.
• Involvement in community outreach or patient education programs.
• Membership in professional organizations related to physical therapy.
