Job description

About Us: Montgomery Rubber and Gasket, a TRG LLC company is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Warehouse Shop Technician. This position is a great way to start a career in the Industrial Distribution Industry. This position is typically responsible for a variety of tasks that are manufacturing, or distribution based and may include assembling and manufacturing sales orders, picking products from the warehouse, and shipping and receiving. The role includes operation of machinery and other manufacturing equipment.

Essential Functions:
  • Receive incoming shipments into inventory including loading and unloading delivery trucks.
  • Stock and maintain all warehouse locations, bins, and racks in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Assist with physical inventory.
  • Operate basic mechanical equipment such as hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Assist hose area with basic duties such as hose banding and crimping, roll, cut or test hose.
  • Assist gasket and belting area with basic duties such as prepping material and using precision cutting tools to cut gaskets and belts to the required shape and size.
  • Have the ability to interact with customers in a professional manor at the service counter or on customer deliveries.
  • Requires ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to consistently move throughout facility during the workday, including staying on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Operate forklift upon certification.
  • Skills:
  • Possess excellent motivation to meet/exceed customer requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and job sheets.
  • Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools
  • Ability to operate, or learn to operate basic machinery as well as more advanced machinery.
  • Previous Water Jet experience is preferred.
  • Ability to push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently on a repeated basis.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory software.
  • Physical Demands: Highly physically demanding. Moving products around all day. At times bending and leaning over in awkward positions. Working in non-air-conditioned facilities.

    Preferred Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 12 years of warehouse or production experience in an industrial setting required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Driven selfmotivated individual that can work independently or within a team.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • This is an full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Hourly pay rate is based on prior experience. Work hours are Monday-Friday, with some required weekend work during shut downs.
