Job description

General Summary:  The Financial Analyst - Treasury & Revenue Accounting supports the Finance Department through treasury management, banking administration, revenue accounting, cash management, account reconciliations, and financial reporting activities. This position is responsible for monitoring daily cash activity, managing banking transactions, maintaining cash flow forecasts, reconciling accounts, supporting revenue recognition processes, and ensuring the accuracy of block purchase funding and related financial transactions. The role serves as a key contributor to the month-end close process, cash management activities, and the organization's overall financial stewardship.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Banking and Treasury Management

  • Prepare and distribute daily bank balance, deposit, and cash activity reports.
  • Monitor bank account balances and cash activity to ensure sufficient funding for operational obligations.
  • Update and maintain the organization’s 13-week cash flow forecast and Cash Flow Report.
  • Upload and process approved EFT, ACH, positive pay, and remote check payment files through banking platforms.
  • Coordinate funding of payroll, employee benefits, accounts payable, and other authorized disbursements.
  • Process bank Fraud Manager and Positive Pay exception items and coordinate resolution with banking partners.
  • Maintain banking records, account documentation, authorized signer information, and treasury-related files.
  • Assist with banking relationship management and treasury process improvements.

Revenue Accounting and Reconciliation

  • Perform revenue and accounts receivable reconciliations to support accurate monthly financial reporting.
  • Reconcile revenue activity between source systems, payment activity, and the general ledger.
  • Research and resolve variances, unapplied receipts, timing differences, and reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Prepare and record monthly deferred revenue entries and supporting schedules.
  • Support revenue recognition processes in accordance with organizational accounting policies.
  • Prepare analyses and schedules related to revenue, collections, and receivable activity for management review.

Block Purchase Funding Administration

  • Reconcile block purchase funding schedules, payments received, deferred revenue balances, and related general ledger accounts.
  • Monitor expected funding schedules and compare actual receipts to contractual payment requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve funding discrepancies and reconciliation variances.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with program, contracts, and finance personnel regarding funding activity and outstanding issues.

Month-End Close and General Ledger Support

  • Review bank reconciliations during the monthly close process and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
  • Prepare and record recurring monthly journal entries related to banking, revenue, deferred revenue, reimbursements, and other assigned areas.
  • Download and maintain monthly bank statements and supporting month-end documentation.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules in accordance with close deadlines.
  • Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and month-end review processes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation supporting account balances and financial transactions.

Reporting and Financial Analysis

  • Maintain treasury, banking, revenue, and reconciliation reporting files.
  • Prepare recurring reports, schedules, and analyses for Finance leadership.
  • Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation for external auditors and grantor reviews.
  • Track and monitor assigned financial deliverables, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements.

Administrative and Process Support

  • Maintain written procedures and process documentation for assigned responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding banking, revenue, receivable, and reconciliation matters.
  • Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support compliance with internal control requirements, accounting policies, and organizational procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in accounting, finance, treasury, banking, accounts receivable, revenue accounting, or related financial operations.
  • Experience performing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience utilizing banking platforms, accounting systems, and financial software preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Ability to work effectively with AI-enabled tools, digital assistants, and workflow technologies to support analysis, research, documentation, and process efficiency while maintaining appropriate review and judgment.
 

REGULATORY:

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • DPS Level I fingerprint clearance if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements, if required.
