However, some roles may require occasional travel for onboarding, training, or site visits, depending on the company's needs and the specific position. Most HR positions focus on administrative and strategic tasks rather than travel.

Job description

A well-established group of skilled nursing facilities in the Winston-Salem and Greensboro area is hiring a Traveling HR Generalist. This is not a desk job, and it's not a paperwork job. As our Traveling HR Generalist, you'll be the face of Human Resources (HR) on the ground — the person who actually knows the people in every building.

Here's the honest picture: our corporate office handles employee issues remotely, and what's been missing is someone local who knows the personalities, the relationships, and the history behind what happens in each facility. The Traveling HR Generalist fills that gap. You'll spend roughly half your week visiting facilities on a regular rotation — every building at least once a month, with more travel during your first months while you get to know each team — and the other half working from home or the office. If you're the kind of HR person people naturally open up to, this Traveling HR Generalist role was built for you.

Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), long-term care (LTC), or other healthcare setting is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do
  • Travel a regular rotation across our facilities in the Winston-Salem/Greensboro area, maintaining a consistent, familiar presence in each building

  • Build genuine one-on-one trust with staff at every level so people talk to you openly — and read the real dynamics underneath what people tell you

  • Surface brewing issues early and give corporate the on-the-ground context they can't get remotely

  • Handle facility-level HR fundamentals confidently when you're in the building

  • Partner with corporate HR on employee relations matters, feeding them the local insight that leads to fair, informed outcomes

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of Human Resources (HR) experience — facility-level experience is ideal

  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), long-term care (LTC), or healthcare setting strongly preferred

  • Located in or near the Winston-Salem/Greensboro area, with reliable transportation and genuine willingness to travel between facilities roughly half of each week

  • Strong people instincts — someone who's warm and disarming one-on-one, earns trust quickly, and understands the situation behind the complaint

What We Offer
  • Salary up to $95,000 per year, based on experience

  • A role with real autonomy — you manage your own rotation and your own relationships

  • Ownership and leadership that back this position fully and want you out in the buildings, not buried in admin work

If you're an HR professional who's better with people than with paperwork stacks — and you like the idea of being out in the field instead of behind a desk — apply now to join us as our Traveling HR Generalist.
