Job description

CT Scan Technologist

Location - Neptune, NJ

Duration - 13 Weeks

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CT Scan Technologist to perform advanced computed tomography procedures and produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. The technologist will be responsible for patient preparation, contrast administration, image acquisition, and ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced imaging environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong CT technical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and experience working in high-acuity clinical settings.

Shift Details
  • Night Shift
  • 4x10-Hour Schedule
  • Shift Hours: 9:30 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Wednesday through Saturday
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required
Key ResponsibilitiesCT Imaging & Patient Care
  • Perform complex CT imaging procedures and related diagnostic techniques
  • Produce high-quality sectional and 3D imaging studies for interpretation
  • Review patient clinical history and verify exam appropriateness
  • Prepare and position patients for CT procedures
  • Utilize shielding and immobilization devices as needed
  • Monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions or complications
  • Provide clear patient education and procedural instructions
Contrast Administration & Clinical Support
  • Administer contrast media in accordance with physician orders and department protocols
  • Complete contrast screening questionnaires and document appropriately
  • Perform venipuncture and IV maintenance procedures
  • Verify physician orders and clarify protocols when necessary
  • Support patient safety initiatives and adherence to imaging standards
Documentation & Systems
  • Maintain accurate documentation within PACS and electronic medical record systems
  • Upload and manage outside imaging studies for radiologist comparison
  • Ensure diagnostic image quality and proper patient identification
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams regarding imaging protocols
Quality & Compliance
  • Follow all radiology department policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols
  • Participate in quality assurance and equipment maintenance procedures
  • Maintain required certifications and continuing education credits
  • Support departmental workflow and patient throughput
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ARRT Registered Technologist – Radiography [RT(R)]
  • NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
  • Minimum 3 years of CT or radiology experience
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • CT anatomy and positioning
    • PACS systems
    • CT imaging hardware and software
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT CT Certification [RT(CT)]
  • Trauma imaging experience preferred
  • Experience with Epic and hospital HIS/RIS systems
  • 5+ years of CT imaging experience preferred
