The position is responsible for fostering a professional, respectful, and accountable workplace culture while ensuring effective employee relations and maintaining strong communication with staff, students, families, and community stakeholders. Work is performed in accordance with District policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Key Objectives Culture & Leadership: Build and maintain a positive, respectful, and professional workplace culture focused on accountability, fairness, and teamwork. Operational Excellence: Support departmental operations through effective oversight of routing, maintenance, and safety compliance. * Stakeholder Service: Provide accurate, timely, and professional service and communication to students, staff, parents, and the public.

Salary / Compensation $64,464 to $83,392.14 plus employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits, in accordance with District policy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties are representative and not exhaustive. Duties may vary based on assignment.

Core Leadership & Employee Relations Coordinates and supervises the overall operation of the Transportation Department, including routing, fleet maintenance, and shop operations. Establishes and maintains a professional, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture free from favoritism and unprofessional conduct. * Proactively addresses employee concerns, morale issues, and team dynamics to ensure a positive work environment.

Implements systems and expectations that promote accountability, consistency, and transparency in supervision. Oversees, evaluates, and supports staff; recommends and implements personnel actions including hiring, discipline, and termination in accordance with District policy. * Develops and implements employee training and professional development plans.

Recognizes and addresses unprofessional behavior, including gossip, favoritism, or workplace disruption. Operational & Technical Support Communicates information clearly and professionally to staff, students, parents, vendors, and the public; responds to and resolves complaints in a timely manner. * Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and district regulations, including safety, drug/alcohol testing, and Title 49 CFR Part 382.

Conducts investigations related to accidents, incidents, and employee relations issues; determines appropriate actions. Develops, monitors, and manages departmental budget and resources. * Maintains accurate records, reporting systems, and operational data.

Collaborates with school administrators and community stakeholders to improve transportation services. Promotes and maintains a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable safety standards. * Collaborates with school administration to identify, address, and support student discipline issues related to transportation.

Knowledge of and ability to comply with confidentiality laws and regulations and District policies. Proficiency in the use of standard equipment, technology, and software associated with the position. * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including delivering difficult or corrective feedback.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and resolve workplace conflict in a fair and professional manner. Licenses or Certificates Required Valid Nevada Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsement * Current First Aid/CPR Certificate (or ability to obtain upon employment).
