What are the main responsibilities of a Transport Manager?

A Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a company's transportation fleet. Their duties typically include ensuring legal compliance with transport regulations, managing drivers and vehicle maintenance, optimizing delivery routes, and controlling transport budgets. They also work to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure that goods are delivered safely and on time. Effective communication and organizational skills are essential for this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Transport Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Transport Manager, you need expertise in logistics planning, fleet management, and regulatory compliance, typically supported by a relevant degree or professional qualifications such as CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
