As a Transmission Planning Manager, you'll be at the heart of a team thatโ€™s driving innovation and reliability in the power grid. Youโ€™ll lead a group of talented engineers, guiding their growth while managing budgets and balancing team performance with strategic expansion. Youโ€™ll be hands-on with technical workโ€”performing calculations, interpreting utility records, and applying engineering principles to real-world challenges.

Youโ€™ll collaborate closely with clients, both existing and prospective, helping to build strong relationships and expand our impact. Whether you're mentoring junior engineers, overseeing project execution, or contributing to business development, your leadership will help shape the future of our transmission planning efforts.

Youโ€™ll also play a key role in project managementโ€”ensuring deliverables meet specifications, identifying risks, and communicating clearly with stakeholders. Your technical expertise will be essential in performing system analyses, reviewing work for quality, and supporting proposal development. And as a mentor, youโ€™ll help guide the next generation of engineers, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of learning and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree with concentration in power systems engineering and equivalent experience developed through detailed analysis of power systems;
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in wide-area power system modeling, analysis, and planning, including power flow, transient stability, and short circuit studies for interconnections on the transmission system
  • Proficient with power system modeling and analysis tools including, at a minimum, Siemens PTI PSSยฎE Steady State Power Flow and Dynamics as well as PowerGem TARA
  • Experience with PSCAD software is a plus
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred
  • Highly experienced with rules, tariffs, guidelines, and processes of system operators (ISOs/RTOs) and studies of interconnections and transmission service
  • Able to travel up to 10% of the time to support client and sales initiatives
