S&ME is seeking a motivated and results-driven Practice Leader to help us expand into and lead our growth in the Electrical Transmission & Distribution market across the organization. As the Electrical Transmission & Distribution Practice Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping S&ME's presence in a high-demand, rapidly evolving market by driving new revenue, building client partnerships, and developing high-performing teams.


The Electrical Transmission & Distribution market segment is part of S&ME's Energy Market, where we utilize our life cycle approach, utilizing our core services of environmental, civil, and geotechnical engineering, along with construction materials testing services and special inspections to support our utility and private clients.

What You Will Do:

Drive Growth and Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the Electrical Transmission & Distribution
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue targets within the market for our key services: environmental, civil, and geotechnical engineering, along with construction materials testing services and special inspections.

Build Relationships that Matter

  • Establish and grow key client relationships at both local and national levels within the market
  • Collaborate with local operations and expand existing client relationships
  • Leverage your network and industry presence to position S&ME as a trusted partner
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences that lead to repeat business and long-term partnerships

Lead, Build, and Inspire Teams

  • Partner with internal leaders to build the team, capabilities, and resources needed to scale
  • Mentor and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth

Deliver Excellence

  • Ensure projects are executed with a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction
  • Stay ahead of market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement to keep S&ME at the forefront

What You Bring:

  • Proven success driving revenue growth of our core services (geotechnical, environmental, civil and construction materials testing/special inspections) within Electrical Transmission & Distribution, or similar markets
  • Strong network and client relationships in the Power & Utilities sector
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project/program or market leadership roles
  • You have a proven track record of winning and delivering opportunities for multiple clients within the electrical transmission & distribution market
  • A Professional Engineer license (PE) is a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
