Senior Pastor - Rural Quaker Church
We are a rural Quaker church, seeking a Senior Pastor to serve as a spiritual guide and pastoral presence, nurturing the faith community through worship, discipleship, outreach, care coaching, advising, counseling, and leadership. Rooted in the Sovereignty of God, teachings of Jesus, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Minister fosters and supports both individual and collective spiritual growth.
Core Responsibilities

  • Spiritual Leadership: Offer guidance rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, helping members deepen their faith and spiritual practice. Disciple and mentor youth and adults in their gifts, talents, and leadership as appropriate.
  • Preaching & Teaching: Prepare and deliver fresh, biblically grounded messages during worship, lead weekly Bible study and facilitate discussions that align with the Bible version approved by the Ministry & Counsel. Incorporate elements of open worship as appropriate.
  • Community Engagement: Foster outreach programs, build relationships wih local organizations and encourage service and reconciliation efforts. Represent the church and onself in a manner that conveys Christian beliefs and share these beliefs with others supporting service and mission initiatives.
  • Spiritual Formation: Lead weekly bible study, prayer groups and educational programs that deepen the understanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ, which promote a relationship that should result in a daility walk wih Christ.
  • Pastoral Care: Offer support to families through visitation, counseling, and presence during life transitions such as illness, grief, weddings, funerals, etc.
  • Collaboration: Work closely wih Ministry & Counsel and other teams as needed to discern and support the spiritual direction of the church, ensuring visions are aligned. Provide reports regarding pastoral activities as requested by the Ministry and Counsel.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep understanding of the Bible.
  • Believe in Jesus as fully man and fully God; That God is one with Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
  • Possess a willingness to learn or become familiar with Quaker practices
  • Good moral and ethical standing with previous employers and the community.
  • Possess a theology degree from an accredited institution.
