Job Description: Pastor/Director of Youth and Young Adults

Full-Time Position | Annual Compensation: $45,000-$65,000

Position Summary

Rock Harbor Church is seeking a passionate, relational, and spiritually mature leader to lead our ministries to students and young adults.

Rock Harbor was planted within the Evangelical Covenant Church in 2019. Located in Melbourne Beach, Florida, we are committed to authentic Christian community, heartfelt worship, discipleship, and service.

Our mission is: Together, creating safe spaces for everyone to love, laugh, and live out the Good News of Jesus.

Our Youth Ministry serves students in grades 7-12 through weekly gatherings, small groups, relational ministry, retreats, camps, missions, and special events. We also have a new and thriving Young Adult Ministry that provides Christian community, discipleship, and opportunities for young adults to grow into active participation and leadership within the church.

Requirements

Youth Ministry (60%)

· Provide vision, leadership, and spiritual direction for Rock Harbor's ministry to students in grades 7-12.

· Lead weekly youth gatherings, small groups, social activities, outreach events, retreats, camps, service projects, and mission experiences.

· Create a relational, energetic, and Gospel-centered environment where students feel seen, welcomed, valued, and safe.

· Share the Good News of Jesus with students who do not yet know Him and equip believers to grow in their faith and live as disciples.

· Build meaningful relationships with students through regular contact, personal follow-up, mentoring, and participation in their lives.

· Recruit, screen, train, encourage, and equip a healthy team of volunteer leaders who can disciple students and lead ministry effectively.

· Develop trusted relationships with parents, communicate consistently, and encourage them as the primary spiritual influence in their students' lives.

· Maintain safe and accountable ministry practices in accordance with all Rock Harbor Church policies.

Young Adult Ministry (30%)

· Provide vision, leadership, and pastoral care for Rock Harbor's new and thriving Young Adult Ministry.

· Develop regular gatherings that include authentic community, biblical teaching, worship, prayer, fellowship, and discipleship.

· Build relationships with young adults and create opportunities for outreach, small groups, service, missions, retreats, and social connection.

· Recruit and develop young adult leaders while connecting young adults to meaningful service and relationships within the broader church family.

· Help graduating high school students transition naturally into the Young Adult Ministry and continued involvement in the life of Rock Harbor Church.

Church-Wide Responsibilities (10%)

· Participate regularly in staff meetings, ministry planning, and the shared life of Rock Harbor Church.

· Work collaboratively with pastors, staff members, volunteer leaders, parents, and church leadership.

· Participate in the broader ministry of Rock Harbor Church according to the candidate's gifts and the church's needs.

· Manage ministry budgets, calendars, registrations, communication, and administrative responsibilities with excellence.

We are seeking a spiritually mature, relational, energetic, and outreach-minded leader who loves Jesus and is passionate about making disciples.

· Demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus and lead with biblical character, humility, integrity, wisdom, and accountability.

· Connect naturally with students, young adults, parents, volunteers, and the larger church family.

· Create fun and engaging environments where people want to participate and feel comfortable inviting their friends.

· Communicate Scripture clearly, creatively, faithfully, and in ways appropriate for each age group.

· Be passionate about sharing the Good News with those who do not know Jesus and equipping believers to grow as disciples.

· Recruit, equip, encourage, and release volunteers and young leaders into meaningful ministry.

· Possess strong organizational skills related to budgeting, scheduling, communication, events, safety, and follow-up.

· Work collaboratively as part of a pastoral and ministry staff team.

· Demonstrate a strong work ethic and pursue excellence for the glory of God.

· Communicate effectively in person, in writing, and through appropriate digital and social-media platforms.

Experience in worship leadership, production, technology, graphic design, video, or social media is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

1. Have the legal ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

2. Have at least two years of experience leading or providing significant leadership within a healthy and growing youth ministry.

3. Have a clear testimony of conversion and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

4. Fulfill the biblical standards expected of a church leader.

5. Be committed to the ministry of Jesus Christ through Rock Harbor Church and its Catch the W.A.V.E. discipleship pathway.

6. Become an Ambassador of Rock Harbor Church.

7. Agree with the Evangelical Covenant Church Affirmations.

8. If serving under the title of pastor, be eligible and willing to pursue appropriate credentialing through the Evangelical Covenant Church. Candidates currently ordained or licensed through another denomination may also be considered.

9. Exhibit a teachable spirit and participate regularly in spiritual growth, accountability, and continuing development.

10. Successfully complete all required background screening and comply with Rock Harbor Church's safety policies.

11. Tithe faithfully and regularly.

Benefits

Annual compensation will range from $45,000 to $65,000, based on experience, education, ministry credentials, and overall qualifications.
