You work with other managers and team members to help their employees learn new ideas and strategies, and meet company goals. Your responsibilities as a training manager include teaching, planning, and implementing educational content using training seminars, interactive learning exercises, and training manuals. A career as a training manager requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a training manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Training Manager, you need expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and a relevant degree in human resources, education, or a related field. Job Summary:

We're seeking a Training Manager for the Uncle Julio's brand to lead the development, delivery, and execution of brand-specific training programs that

support operational excellence, hospitality, food quality, leadership development, and consistent restaurant execution. This role will serve as the training and

communication bridge between the Restaurant Support Center and field leadership teams, ensuring new initiatives, menu updates, operational standards,

promotions, and brand expectations are clearly communicated, trained, and executed at the restaurant level.

The Training Manager will create and maintain engaging training content across written, video, visual, and LMS formats, including newsletters, how-to guides, job aids, training modules, and field communication tools. This role will also conduct field training in restaurant locations to observe execution, coach leaders, gather feedback, and identify training opportunities.

The ideal candidate is creative, tech-savvy, highly organized, and deeply connected to restaurant culture, with hands-on experience translating brand standards into practical training tools that help restaurant teams succeed.

What You'll Get (Benefits):

  • Competitive Pay - Your talent and hard work won't go unnoticed.
  • Health & Wellness Coverage - Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance plans to keep you and your family feeling your best.
  • 401(k) & HSA Match - Helping you invest in your future (and putting more back in your wallet).
  • Paid Training - We set you up for success from day one.
  • Generous Time Off - Up to 16 paid vacation and sick days, plus 7 company holidays to recharge and reset.
  • Free Meals on Duty - Pick your favorite from 6 nearby brand locations-we've got lunch covered.
  • Perk-Spot Discounts - National savings on everything from travel to tech, plus exclusive deals at our own restaurants.
  • Career Growth - We're growing fast, and we love to promote from within.
  • And more good stuff - Because working with us should feel rewarding every day.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

As the Training Manager for Uncle Julio's, you'll design, deliver, and manage training initiatives that drive engagement, consistency, and operational excellence across the brand. You'll own the development of brand-specific learning content for our LMS, such as WiseTail, while also creating videos, newsletters, how-to guides, job aids, leader tools, and field communication resources.

You'll lead both in-person and virtual training sessions, conduct field visits, observe restaurant execution, coach leaders, gather feedback, and identify training gaps. This role serves as the communication and training bridge between Restaurant Support Center departments and field leadership, ensuring new initiatives, promotions, menu updates, system changes, and operational standards are clearly communicated and executed.

You'll collaborate closely with Operations, Culinary, HR, Marketing, Risk, and IT to ensure all training materials are accurate, practical, brand-right, and aligned with Uncle Julio's standards for hospitality, food quality, safety, cleanliness, and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Uncle Julio's brand training content, including LMS modules, videos, newsletters, how-to guides, job aids, facilitator guides, and field communication tools.
  • Deliver in-person and virtual training for restaurant leaders and field teams to support brand standards, operational execution, hospitality, food quality, and guest experience.
  • Conduct field visits to observe execution, coach leaders, gather feedback, and identify training opportunities.
  • Partner with Operations, Culinary, HR, Marketing, Risk, and IT to support training for new initiatives, menu rollouts, promotions, technology updates, compliance topics, and safety procedures.
  • Own and maintain Uncle Julio's training calendar, rollout timelines, training resources, and LMS content updates.
  • Support manager development through training tools focused on leadership, communication, coaching, accountability, shift execution, and team member development.
  • Reinforce Uncle Julio's brand standards, including polished casual hospitality, scratch kitchen execution, food quality, beverage standards, cleanliness, and celebration-based guest service.
  • Serve as the brand voice for training communications, ensuring all materials are clear, engaging, accurate, and aligned with Uncle Julio's culture and operational standards.

What You'll Bring (Requirements):

  • At least 2 years of experience in training or learning and development, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Experience using LMS platforms such as WiseTail, Schoox, or similar systems.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to create engaging content (written, video and visual).
  • Hands-on restaurant industry experience required.
  • Ability to travel for field training and brand support.
  • Highly organized with strong project management and follow-up skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to build trust across departments and levels.
  • Passion for brand storytelling and inspiring operational excellence through education.
