Job description

Position Description Position Overview: The Training Director is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of training to staff. This role involves managing training initiatives, assessing training effectiveness, and ensuring alignment with HCPDO mission, vision and values. The Training Director supports employee development and works with leadership to align training programs with organizational goals.

The Training Director reports directly to the Chief of Legal Services, but will collaborate with other supervisors about training needs, as well as work with the Training Committee regarding education of the bar generally. Duties and Responsibilities: Designing, implementing, and overseeing training and gathering training resources. Directly training lawyers and staff.

Requirements Experience: The Training Director must have significant experience as a criminal defense lawyer and have tried a substantial number of felony cases.

Licensure: Must be licensed or eligible to become licensed in Texas within one (1) year. NOTE: Qualifying education, experience, knowledge, and skills must be documented on your job application. "See Resume" will not be accepted for qualifications. Preferences Experience training criminal defense lawyers is strongly preferred. Knowledge of culture and practice in Harris County criminal courts is preferred but not required.

Ten (10) years of criminal defense experience. Training experience across various team roles within indigent defense is preferred but not required. General Information Position Type and Typical Hours of Work: Regular Full-time Monday - Friday | 8:00 a.m

to 5:00 p.m. Plus weekends as needed. Salary: Depends on Qualifications Based on 26 pay periods Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards
