Summary
Help drive the success, safety, and efficiency of our transportation operations through impactful training and development programs. As a Transportation Training Coordinator, you will coordinate, facilitate, and support training initiatives for Transportation office personnel and drivers, ensuring team members are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to perform at their best. You will partner closely with Safety, Operations, Fleet Leadership, and Transportation teams to support onboarding, compliance, driver development, and continuous learning efforts. This role is ideal for a collaborative, organized professional who is passionate about developing people, promoting operational excellence, and helping build a strong culture of safety and performance across the transportation organization.
This position has a target wage of $23.00 - 28.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for Transportation office team members.
  • Train employees on transportation systems, processes, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support learning and development initiatives for dispatch, planning, fleet administration, and transportation support functions.
  • Maintain training records and monitor completion of required training.
  • Assist with the development and continuous improvement of training materials, job aids, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide refresher training and support process standardization efforts across the department.
  • Coordinate and support driver onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Facilitate safety training sessions and driver development initiatives.
  • Support compliance training related to DOT regulations, Hours of Service, ELD usage, vehicle inspections, and company policies.
  • Assist with driver coaching programs by tracking performance metrics and identifying training opportunities.
  • Partner with Safety, Operations, and Fleet Leadership to address training needs and reinforce safe driving behaviors.
  • Maintain driver training documentation and support audit readiness.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, observations, and performance metrics.
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend training solutions.
  • Support department initiatives focused on safety, service, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure new hire onboarding completion and effectiveness.
  • Maintain driver and office employee training compliance.
  • Support the reduction of operational and safety-related training gaps.
  • Promote positive trainee feedback and engagement.
  • Support improvement in safety, compliance, and operational performance metrics.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or a related field.
  • Experience facilitating training, onboarding, coaching, or employee development programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to organize multiple training programs, maintain records, and track completion metrics.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Education, Safety, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of transportation or fleet operations experience.
  • Experience training CDL drivers and Transportation office personnel.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, CSA/SMS programs, accident prevention, and driver coaching practices.
  • Experience using transportation management systems (TMS), telematics platforms, or fleet management software.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional movement to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
