The Job The Performance, Education, & Resource Centers (PERC) is recruiting for a Training and Development Manager to plan, organize, and direct the daily operations of the County's training and development department. Training and Development Managers oversee a portfolio of programs and administrative tasks which may include, but are not limited to, the following: Plan and manage training department operations Oversee and coordinate countywide training and staff development events Oversee the administration of specific training programs, as assigned Review the preparation and management of assigned budget items and service contracts Maintain training and development standards, objectives, policies, and procedures Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend changes to division operations to improve cost and operational efficiencies Oversee the administration of the tuition reimbursement program Serve as technical consultant to subordinate staff and act as an internal consultant to the larger organization Participate in management team meetings and represents the department at meetings both within and outside of the department Manage highly confidential and sensitive personnel and organizational matters; maintain security of records and information Assign, train, and supervise professional and supervisory level staff For more information, refer to the Training and Development Manager job description. Minimum Requirements Qualifying candidates must meet the following education and experience requirements: Education: A completed bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in English, Education, Business/Public Administration, Liberal Arts, Communication, Organizational Development, Social/Behavioral Science, or a related field. - AND - Training Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent work experience as a professional trainer or educator of adult learners.

- AND - Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent work experience as a full-scope supervisor over professional or technical staff. Notes: - Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S

must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. - Experience as a professional trainer must be equivalent to a journey-level Staff Training Instructor or comparable classification. Experience as a Staff Training Instructor Trainee must be clearly distinguished from journey-level experience in the work experience section of the application.

- Providing informal on-the-job training is not considered qualifying experience. Delivering training, performing needs assessments, developing curriculum, and other closely related duties must encompass primary scope of responsibilities. - Training and supervisory experience may be concurrent.

Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in one of the qualifying fields listed above and experience in the public sector. Selection Process Examination Procedure: There will be a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on the information provided in the Application and the Supplemental Questionnaire.
