The Business Development Manager (BDM) - Separation Products is responsible for driving new business growth of Zurn Elkay's industry-leading grease, oil, and sediment separation solutions. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and influencing municipal decision-makers, public works officials, engineers, and regulatory agencies to specify and adopt Zurn Elkay separation products over competitive offerings. The BDM will develop long-term strategic relationships that lead to increased market share, product adoption, and revenue growth.
Reports to: Category Director - Separation
Key Focus Areas
  • Identify and develop new municipal business opportunities that align with the strategic growth of the separation product line.
  • Build relationships with municipal engineers, public utilities, wastewater authorities, and environmental compliance officers to influence product selection and specifications.
  • Educate municipalities, regulators, and specifying engineers on the value proposition, regulatory compliance, and long-term cost benefits of Zurn Elkay separation solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to monitor and influence local and regional codes, ordinances, and environmental regulations to promote separation technologies.
  • Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed territory revenue targets through proactive engagement and account development.
  • Identify and qualify new verticals, strategic partnerships, and untapped segments
  • Support and develop rep agencies and channel partners by equipping them with training, tools, and knowledge to succeed in municipal sales pursuits.
  • Partner with marketing, product management, and engineering to align on voice of customer, product enhancements, and sales support materials.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, tracking leads and opportunities through CRM tools to ensure effective follow-up and forecasting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of business development sales experience, preferably with municipal customers, engineered products, or in water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of municipal procurement processes, public project planning cycles, and environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers and win specifications in competitive markets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory (Major markets: CA, AZ, CO, WA, and NV)

The compensation range identified below is a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Base Salary Range: $91,632 - $138,594
