Role Summary:

The Training & Development Specialist is a dynamic role responsible for developing, evaluating, and monitoring training programs throughout the organization to meet both long-term and short-term training objectives set by the Training & Development Supervisor. The Specialist will collaborate closely with subject matter experts to design and develop sophisticated interactive courseware to facilitate it into a learning experience through various delivery methods, including eLearning and instructor-led training, and in both in-person and virtual settings. Furthermore, the Specialist will maintain a well-versed knowledge in all training-related regulations and industry standards to effectively perform their duties.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of all Maintenance training programs to ensure alignment with the EAC Maintenance and Inspection Training Manual (MITM).
  2. Procure, design, and administer training programs for mechanics, inspectors, and other maintenance staff in line with all applicable FAR's, FAA and industry standards to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk.
  3. Modify existing and developing new and engaging LMS-based online courses, modules, computer-based training (CBT), and general aircraft familiarization training in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  4. Design and conduct train-the-trainer programs for company instructors, incorporating post-training feedback to enhance instructional effectiveness and learning outcomes.
  5. Assess the Maintenance Department training needs by working with the Director of Maintenance and Training & Development Supervisor to support CTAMP trainee development for a highly trained workforce and on-site training delivery and progress.
  6. Plan, coordinate, and communicate training events, ensuring proper alignment of training costs, instructors, facilities, and materials.
  7. Ensure all training and regulatory requirements comply with FAA, PHMSA, DOT, OSHA, and company policies, including proper tracking and documentation.
  8. Implement changes or updates to the Maintenance Department training modules in response to CAS, IEP, FAA, and DoD discrepancies to ensure compliance.
  9. Issue monthly Maintenance certification reports detailing employee qualifications and upcoming training requirements to support compliance and timely enrollment.
  10. Represent the Training Department by participating in the Maintenance and monthly CAS meetings.
  11. Cross train in the Training & Development Coordinator's role and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  1. Valid Driver's License is required.
  2. Must be able to pass an Airport Background criminal history check.
  3. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience related to instructional design, adult learning theory, and training techniques.
  4. A strong educational background and experience in managing and developing programs and providing instructions is preferred.
  5. Experience in instructional design theory (ADDIE process) preferred.
  6. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is preferred.
  7. Able to collaborate with team as well as work independently without supervision is required.
  8. Must have the technical aptitude to comfortably operate scanners and new software interface quickly.
  9. A "quality-first" mindset with the ability to manage a high volume of technical paperwork without errors is required.
  10. Strong communication skills for interfacing technicians and leadership to ensure regulatory adherence are required.
  11. Familiarity with Part 121, 135, FAA, DoD, and OSHA regulations are strongly preferred.
