Job description

Wellstar Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to become an integral member of our growing cardiovascular service line serving the Cobb and Kennestone markets in metro Atlanta.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative team of advanced heart failure specialists, general cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary support staff dedicated to delivering exceptional cardiovascular care across one of the region's most comprehensive health systems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued growth and development of our Advanced Heart Failure program, providing care to patients with complex heart failure syndromes, cardiomyopathies, and advanced cardiovascular disease while helping shape the future of cardiovascular care at Wellstar.

Position Highlights
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient management of patients with advanced heart failure and cardiomyopathy.
  • Evaluate and manage patients requiring advanced heart failure therapies and complex cardiovascular care.
  • Collaborate closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and care coordinators.
  • Participate in program development, quality initiatives, and clinical innovation efforts focused on improving patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the education and mentorship of team members and trainees as opportunities arise.
  • Help advance regional cardiovascular services through evidence-based, patient-centered care.

The physician will practice across Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center and Wellstar Cobb Medical Center, serving one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing regions in Georgia.

Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the management of complex heart failure patients.
  • Experience with advanced heart failure therapies and multidisciplinary care models.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Georgia.
