Job description


Hilltop Securities is looking to hire a Junior Institutional Sales Trainee. The Junior Institutional Sales Trainee will provide administrative and operational support to a team of Salespeople on the trading floor. This is an exciting opportunity to learn the Institutional Sales role and progress into a junior sales position. The target start date for this role will be June or July of 2027.
Responsibilities
  • Answer client inquires over the phone and via email
  • Assist Institutional Sales team with daily activities
  • Troubleshoot trade problems, check hedges and confirm trades with clients and dealers back-office teams
  • Maintain databases and files
  • Support the administrative needs of the office
  • Obtain the necessary knowledge and skills to be successful in the brokerage industry

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (Finance or Econ preferred)
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Series 7 & 63 licenses within six months of hire
  • Desire to learn the Institutional Sales business
  • Strong PC skills including knowledge of MS office products and the Bloomberg Terminal
  • 1-2 years previous industry or sales experience preferred
  • Team player, comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced, deadline-drive environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit interested in working in a competitive environment Hours: 6am-6pm
  • Monthly travel will be required to see clients
