Job description

LaSalle Network is working with a large bank seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join their growing Power & Energy team in Denver, Colorado. This role is ideal for candidates with three to five years of full-time investment banking experience. The successful candidate will support the execution of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the power, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
This position offers significant client exposure, financial modeling responsibility, and the opportunity to work alongside senior bankers on complex transactions.
Investment Banking Associate Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions.
  • Develop, review, and oversee complex financial models, including DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction, merger, accretion/dilution, and leveraged buyout analyses.
  • Prepare and review client presentations, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), management presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Manage transaction processes, including due diligence, financial analysis, valuation, and coordination with clients, legal counsel, accountants, and other advisors.
  • Conduct industry and market research focused on power generation, renewable energy, utilities, midstream, infrastructure, and energy transition markets.
  • Participate in client meetings, management presentations, and negotiations throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Support senior bankers in business development by preparing pitch materials, identifying prospective clients, and developing strategic ideas.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Analysts, reviewing financial models and work product to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and capital markets activity affecting the Power & Energy sector.

Investment Banking Associate Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Investment Banking, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant investment banking experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Power & Energy transactions, including renewable energy, utilities, oil & gas, power generation, infrastructure, or energy transition deals.
  • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and transactions execution skills.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and senior management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA, CFA designation, or progress toward the CFA charter.
  • Experience with project finance, infrastructure finance, or energy-focused M&A.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, or similar financial databases.
  • Experience mentoring junior investment banking professionals.
