Job description

Are you looking for a great team environment? Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company is currently seeking a Field Underwriter Trainee, to be located in Northeast Louisiana.  Under the direction and training of management, this position will increase underwriting proficiency and performance of underwriting functions.  The incumbent wll participate in on-the-job training to achieve necessary development and ability to assume additional duties and responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

Thoroughly undewrite commercial and personal lines of business 

Inspect personal and commercial risks for hazards and determine acceptability

Assist the independent Contractor Agents on risks tha are outside of their binding authority. 

Pjysically inpsect, analyze and evaluate property for value, condition and exposure purposes. 

Underwrite, renew, rate various lines of business.

Participate in various daily inspections, roof inspections, special projects inspection programs. 

Frequently accompany Agents on insured appointments to assist in evaluating and identifying exposures. 

Assume duties as Roving Field Underwriterto assist with daily and overflow inspeciton workload.  

Learn duties and responsibilites of Field Underwriter through on-the-job training in office and in the field.

Depict findings in photography and complete reports of discovery form inspections. 

Become well acquaintedwith underwriting manual.
