Trade Assistant

We are seeking a Trade Assistant to join our Syndicated Loan Trading Desk in a high-impact support role at the heart of our credit markets business. In this position, you will work directly alongside senior traders to execute and manage the full lifecycle of syndicated loan transactions, from trade booking and settlement through to ongoing position management. The role demands precision, urgency, and a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced flow trading environment.This opportunity is ideally suited for an early-career professional eager to build a foundation in credit markets and gain a front-row seat to institutional loan trading. You will receive direct exposure to live trading activity and credit decision-making, with structured mentorship from experienced loan traders and credit professionals who will invest in your development. The role offers a clear progression path into trading, structuring, or portfolio management, and provides the kind of dynamic, no-two-days-alike environment that accelerates learning. This is a full-time, on-desk position with early market-hour starts; given the real-time nature of the desk, hybrid flexibility will be limited. This position will sit in Stamford, CT full-time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist traders with trade booking, allocations, and position reconciliation

• Monitor trade blotters and flag discrepancies or breaks in real time

• Help manage trade pipelines from execution through settlement

• Monitor the new issue pipeline to help ensure proper and timely communication

• Help track and compile market color, including news, pricing and new issue activity

• Assist with pricing runs and mark-to-market processes

• Maintain organized records for audit and compliance purposes

• Assist with building and maintaining desk tools (Excel models, trackers, dashboards)

• Support onboarding of new loan positions and data site access

• Liaise with middle office, operations, and agent banks to help resolve settlement issues

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in capital markets, trading support, or financial operations
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros a plus)
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and collaboration mindset
  • Interest in programming/automation (Python, VBA, SQL)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with private credit or CLO's
  • Familiarity with syndicated loan market mechanics (par vs. distressed, LSTA protocols)
  • Experience in Machine Learning and AI models
  • Internship or prior experience on a trading desk or in trading technology
