As an Executive Director of Software Engineering within Infrastructure Engineering, aligned to the Collaboration and Communications Product Line, you will lead one large technical area or multiple smaller areas across the Trader Voice engineering domain. In this senior leadership role, you apply deep technical and domain expertise to solve complex problems, exercise independent judgment within broad guidelines, and translate product strategy into resilient, global infrastructure solutions. You will be accountable for delivery excellence, risk and controls, stakeholder outcomes, and the development of high-performing engineering teams.
Job Responsibilities
  • Leads one or more engineering areas within infrastructure engineering, collaborating across technical domains to deliver cohesive, enterprise-grade solutions
  • Provides strategic and operational leadership to engineering teams, team leads, and managers in alignment with corporate and divisional objectives
  • Partners closely with senior stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business requirements, regulatory expectations, and service-level objectives (SLOs/SLAs)
  • Drives disciplined execution across risk management, controls, security, and operational resilience
  • Partners with product leaders on product definition, roadmap planning, backlog prioritization, and customer-facing SLOs/SLAs
  • Translates market trends and emerging technologies-including productivity tooling, collaboration platforms, data, and AI/ML-into product vision and engineering strategy
  • Owns staffing plans, budget, and financial accountability aligned to the function's operating model
  • Mentors and develops engineering leaders and technologists, raising engineering standards, delivery quality, and career progression
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology organizations

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering or a related discipline, with 7+ years of applied experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading technologists in complex, global engineering environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure engineering teams with accountability for operational execution and delivery governance
  • Strong engineering background designing, deploying, and operating Trader Voice or real-time communications platforms across a global estate
  • Proven success in an engineering leadership role delivering end-user-facing infrastructure solutions
  • Deep understanding of the full product lifecycle, including strategy, architecture, engineering, implementation, and operations
  • Broad knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure engineering tools and programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python or automation tooling)
  • Experience contributing to agile delivery artifacts such as Jira stories and Confluence documentation
  • Exposure to budget and financial management

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience driving Global Technology excellence through responsible adoption of AI-enabled infrastructure, automation, and tooling
  • Ability to define and influence portfolio- or enterprise-level strategies for AI-assisted infrastructure aligned to business outcomes
  • Experience owning governance, risk posture, and operational readiness for AI usage within infrastructure domains
  • Experience shaping operating models, talent strategies, and success metrics for an AI-augmented engineering workforce
  • Track record of fostering continuous learning and responsible innovation at scale
