Micro-Tronics, Inc. (MTI) is seeking a Business Development Manager for a newly created, high-impact role that will play a critical part in the company's continued growth and success. We are seeking a motivated "hunter" who thrives on identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the Aerospace & Defense industry.

This position has a global territory and is responsible for expanding market share by developing new customer relationships, pursuing strategic target accounts, and leading business capture efforts with small- to mid-sized customers. Because new opportunities emerge daily, the successful candidate must be highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple pursuits simultaneously.

The ideal candidate brings an established network within the Aerospace & Defense market and a proven record of winning new business. This individual will work closely with Customer Service, Engineering, and Estimating while leveraging Salesforce CRM to manage opportunities from initial engagement through award. This role offers high visibility and significant career growth potential for candidates who consistently deliver results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Proactively pursue and follow up on proposals and bids to improve win rates and capture new business opportunities.
  • Identify and evaluate customer share-of-wallet opportunities and develop strategies to expand Micro-Tronics' participation.
  • Drive long-term revenue growth within assigned accounts and strategic target customers.
  • Develop new customer relationships while strengthening existing partnerships.
  • Present and communicate Micro-Tronics' capabilities and value proposition to prospective and existing customers.
  • Develop and execute customer engagement and business capture strategies using Salesforce CRM.
  • Continuously identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the Aerospace & Defense market.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Estimating to develop competitive proposals and recommend strategies to improve win probability.
  • Lead customer negotiations while partnering with internal teams to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Work closely with Customer Service to ensure exceptional responsiveness and communication throughout the sales process.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer while balancing Micro-Tronics' business objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer organizations, including decision-makers, procurement processes, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
  • Recommend and participate in industry trade shows, conferences, customer visits, and networking events.
  • Support marketing initiatives by developing customer-facing materials and participating in promotional efforts.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and pipeline management within Salesforce CRM.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Established relationships and strong contacts within Aerospace & Defense customer organizations.
  • Demonstrated success identifying, pursuing, and capturing new business opportunities.
  • Knowledge of elastomer seals, gaskets, diaphragms, and pneumatic systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining and EDM machining preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Aerospace & Defense supply chain dynamics and supplier tiers.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality systems and certifications, including NADCAP, ISO 9001, and AS9100.
  • Familiarity with ITAR regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong learning agility with the ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • High-energy, positive personality with a strong hunter mentality and passion for business development.
  • Proven ability to prepare for and lead productive customer meetings with clear objectives and actionable outcomes.
  • Analytical, data-driven decision-maker with strong business acumen.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of business development experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry, with a demonstrated record of capturing new business and growing market share.
  • Experience developing pricing proposals with an understanding of pricing strategy, margins, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and other commercial considerations.
  • Demonstrated success building strategic customer relationships and managing complex sales opportunities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Approximately 50–60% travel to customer locations, trade shows, and industry events.
  • This position is based out of the Tempe, AZ facility. Regular onsite collaboration is expected; however, remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
  • Work requires substantial visual concentration and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work effectively from both written and verbal instructions.
