WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As the Logistics and Trade Associate, you will be a crucial member of our team, leveraging your extensive knowledge and experience in global logistics. This role will encompass responsibilities related to global logistics, import and export customs, and trade compliance. In addition, the Logistics Coordinator will take ownership of various assignments that contribute to the overall success of our logistics operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate the timely dispatch of goods to international and EU/UK destinations.
  • Create trade documents, including commercial invoices, while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, including consular, legalisation, or translation activities.
  • Secure export permits and licenses necessary for the smooth exportation of goods.
  • Ensure import permits and licenses are for seamless importation when required.
  • Accurately declare consignments to freight forwarders and provide necessary export and import paperwork.
  • Coordinate customs clearance for goods in global locations, including issuing instructions for timely clearance and authorising payment or suspension of applicable duties and taxes.
  • Manage duty and tax payments while maintaining accurate records.
  • Collate information such as Dispatch Notes to ensure timely and precise shipment to our global customers and sister sites.
  • Adhere to company document retention guidelines for dispatched goods, ensuring compliance with shipping instructions, receipt of customs entries with departure messages, and acquisition of shipment paperwork.
  • Verify freight accounts for export and import consignments to confirm correct charges levied by relevant forwarders and agents.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • Minimum of two years' experience in import and export logistics, preferably within the international logistics sector.
  • Secondary or higher education qualifications.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Ability to identify, research, and analyse compliance issues related to both new and existing products.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, working methodically to meet tight deadlines in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication across all levels of the organisation and fostering collaboration within the team.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
  • Proficiency in handling US/EU Export Controlled information.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in import and export compliance, preferably within the international logistics sector.
  • Experience in assigning commodity codes for products.
