Position Overview:ย We are seeking an experiencedย Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Managerย to lead and implement TPM strategies across our manufacturing operations. The TPM Manager will be responsible for ensuring the optimization of equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and enhancing overall production efficiency. This individual will work closely with engineering, operations, and production teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive maintenance, driving the effectiveness and longevity of machinery and equipment. This position is expected to understand the trading card manufacturing process and participate in daily plant operations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • PM Strategy and Implementation:
    • Develop, implement, and lead a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and overall efficiency.
    • Oversee the execution of TPM pillars including Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Planned Maintenance (PM), Quality Maintenance (QM), and Focused Improvement (FI).
    • Establish maintenance goals, KPIs, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of TPM initiatives.
    • Lead the continuous improvement process through systematic root cause analysis and proactive action plans.
  • Maintenance Management:
    • Ensure the development and execution of preventive maintenance schedules and tasks to minimize equipment breakdowns.
    • Coordinate with production and operations teams to ensure that maintenance activities do not impact production schedules.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of corrective and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is running at optimal performance.
    • Ensure equipment reliability through root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions to address recurring issues.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and develop the TPM team, providing training and coaching to operators, technicians, and engineers in TPM practices.
    • Promote cross-functional teamwork and collaboration to build ownership of maintenance activities across all levels of the organization.
    • Drive the cultural shift toward a proactive maintenance environment by engaging all employees in continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Organize and lead TPM-related workshops and training sessions to build competency and knowledge in TPM methodologies.
  • Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring:
    • Monitor and analyze maintenance performance data, downtime, and efficiency metrics to identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement systems for tracking equipment performance and utilizing metrics (OEE, MTTR, MTBF, etc.) to evaluate and enhance equipment reliability.
    • Report on TPM performance to senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
    • Lead the identification of bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements within maintenance and production workflows.
    • Introduce and evaluate new technologies, equipment, or methodologies to improve maintenance practices and extend equipment life.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to propose ideas, experiment with innovative solutions, and solve problems proactively.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry standards.
    • Promote a culture of safety across the maintenance and production teams, ensuring safe working practices during all maintenance procedures.
    • Regularly audit maintenance processes to ensure adherence to safety protocols and identify areas for improvement.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage the TPM budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently to meet maintenance and production goals.
    • Control costs related to maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and external contractors to optimize operational efficiency.

Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in maintenance management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing TPM initiatives in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
    • Proven experience implementing and managing TPM strategies and systems across large-scale manufacturing operations.
    • Strong understanding of industrial equipment, machinery reliability, and maintenance best practices.

Technical Skills:

    • Familiarity with TPM methodologies, maintenance management systems (CMMS), and performance metrics (OEE, MTTR, MTBF).
    • Strong knowledge of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance techniques.
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop teams.
    • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, from operators to senior management.
    • Ability to facilitate workshops, training, and problem-solving sessions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or another relevant fieldย 
  • Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanishย 
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification
  • 5+ years of work experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of CI systems and methodologies including TPM, Lean, Six Sigma
  • Strong Excel ability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to present ideas to a diverse audience from hourly workforce to executive leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage cross-functional projects
  • Knowledge of EHS, quality, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Standing and Walking:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Frequent movement within the production area to supervise and assist team members.

Lifting and Carrying:

  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting of heavier items with the assistance of equipment or team members.

Bending, Stooping, and Kneeling:

  • Regular bending, stooping, and kneeling to inspect machinery, perform maintenance tasks, and handle materials.
  • Flexibility to work in low positions and confined spaces as needed.

Reaching and Handling:

  • Frequently reaching overhead and below shoulder level to access materials and operate machinery.
  • Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools accurately.

Pushing and Pulling:

  • Ability to push and pull carts, equipment, and materials as needed within the production area.

Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • Regular use of PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and safety shoes.
  • Compliance with all safety protocols and regulations regarding PPE usage.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential hazards.
  • Tolerance for working in conditions that may include dust, fumes, and strong odors.

Physical Stamina:

  • Endurance to work extended hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as production demands.
