Description NOW HIRING: TOWN ENGINEER Put your engineering expertise to work in one of North Carolina's most historic coastal communities. The Town of Beaufort is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Town Engineer to provide professional engineering expertise and leadership for the Town's infrastructure and capital improvement initiatives. THE POSITION The Town Engineer performs advanced professional, technical, and administrative engineering work involving the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and improvement of municipal infrastructure.

Examples of Duties Key responsibilities include: Managing capital improvement projects involving streets, stormwater, sidewalks, water distribution, and sewer collection systems Reviewing engineering, site, and development plans for regulatory compliance Managing construction projects, contracts, budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules Coordinating with contractors, consultants, developers, and regulatory agencies Assisting with the Town's Capital Improvement Plan Supporting stormwater management, environmental compliance, and emergency/storm operations Identifying and pursuing grant and project funding opportunities Providing engineering guidance to the Town Manager, Board of Commissioners, Town departments, and the public Supporting GIS, mapping, infrastructure planning, and asset management Typical Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Minimum of five (5) years of progressive engineering experience Municipal, public works, or utility engineering experience preferred Grant writing and administration experience preferred Required Professional Engineer (PE) License Valid North Carolina Driver's License Supplemental Information FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT: Barbara Cooper Human Resources Manager b.cooper@beaufortnc.org 252-528-8780.
