POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Spa Receptionist Associate AM coordinates and schedules all spa services, pools, and other spa functions, such as spa groups. Participates in overall quality control of the spa. The Spa Receptionist Associate also maintains retail inventory, assists in the preparation of the monthly retail inventory. Merchandises the retail area, rearranges product, and alerts Spa Director of low inventory, guest inquiries regarding retail products.ย 

The Spa Receptionist Associate opens and closes the spa, handles cash, and uses the spa software system.

Adheres to all opening, ongoing and closing check lists. Communicates immediately to appropriate spa staff of any schedule changes, problems, guest or staff issues. The Spa Receptionist Associate follows strict grooming standards, looking clean, crisp and neat at all times.ย 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Promptly answer phones and provide accurate spa menu and related resort information.
  2. Book guest appointments ย efficiently and accurately; assist Lead Spa Coordinator, Spa Coordinator and Spa Director with LMT bookings, communication and paperwork.
  3. Greet guests with a sincere ย welcome and explain services in the spa menu.
  4. SMILE!
  5. Engage all spa guests in friendly conversation, when appropriate.ย 
  6. Have a comprehensive knowledge of all spa menu and retail products and services.
  7. Must be able to articulate and ย describe all spa services, retail products and related services in a clear, and enthusiastic way.
  8. Escort and tour guests through spa facility as needed, in a friendly, unhurried manner.
  1. Promote service specials and spa facility.
  2. Communicate with Lead Spa Coordinator and/or Spa & Retail Director regarding any guest requests ย or problems.
  3. Handle daily paperwork as directed or per protocol.
  4. Open and close the spa, ย including cash handling/cash-out, processing retail receipts, running ย reports, and associated duties, assuring that close out reports are inclusive of all issues, activities, and services.
  5. Keep front desk and lobby reception areas immaculate, also keeping open drinking containers away ย from front desk area.
  6. Assist with monthly retail ย inventory planning and implementation.
  7. Utilize downtime effectively by reviewing and following checklists, following verbal instructions and/or seeking guidance from Spa and Retail Director.
  8. Perform Spa Attendant role as needed.
  9. Understand first aid/emergency ย procedures and be able to direct guests accordingly.
  10. Incorporate the resort's culture ย of service excellence, mission and core values into all aspects of job performance.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of two years of combined ย spa or hotel front desk and/or retail experience preferred.
  2. CPR certification preferred.
  3. High school diploma (or equivalent).
  4. Computer skills, experience, and aptitude.
  5. Reliability and punctuality are critical.
  6. Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience.
  7. Desire to ensure the best possible guest experience.
  8. Ability to work evenings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays required.
  9. Ability to work in a quiet ย environment where the employee may be exposed to heat and steam.
  10. Ability to stand for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and ย pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  11. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; the ability to follow written and ย oral instructions and procedures; and the ability to speak and communicate quietly yet clearly.
